Wow, this is the best news of the day! I have reported in years past about the travesty of forced labour in the cotton industry in Uzbekistan and it is with great relief that this practice may soon be coming to an end thanks to the efforts of the Responsible Sourcing Network.  Already their efforts have been successful in eliminating the Uzbek governments’ practice of sending children as young as 7 – 14 years old to work in the cotton fields. Now the RSN’s goal is to stop the forced labour of older students and adults in both Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
