Are you looking for apparel brands that are still manufacturing in the United States? They are difficult to find as 95% of apparel production today is done overseas. This is why I am pleased to promote Joseph Abboud, a menswear line that is still produced in New Bedford, Massachusettes. Five hundred and fifty workers are employeed in the factory, with some families represented by multiple generations. While the suits are manufactured in Massachusettes, the fabrics are from the finest Italian fabrics.
For more information on this brand, please follow the link to Christian Chensvold’s article, Joltin’ Joe: Joseph Abboud’s Big Comeback, that appeared in Apparel Magazine.
Joseph Abboud suits are sold in Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdale’s with retail prices from $700 to $1100. The suits have been redesigned with a more comtemporary flair to appeal to a younger, more hip target market. Check them out and let me know what you think.
Until next time…
