For the 12th year, CR Magazine has published their annual list of the “100 Best Corporate Citizen’s“. It is no surprise that three large multi-national corporations who have been mentioned on this site, two frequently, made the list. These include Nike, Inc. at #10, Gap Inc. at #11, and Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation at #28.
A key point for moving forward with corporate social responsibility (CSR) is transparency. How willing is a company to open their doors and let outside agencies, such as NGO’s, assess their operations. CR Magazine noted a high-level of transparency in today’s business environment. I see this as an encouraging move toward improving employee relations and environmental outcomes.
